360HYS top pick at the Corinth Canal area

What else is hidden around the corner?

Thousands cross every year but only a few know about the Canal’ history and the little hidden gems in the area.

One of them is our favourite fish tavern, the Kavos taverna, at the east end of the Canal. Standing there since 1964 right by the sea at the dead end of a small road with its landmark, the perennial olive tree.

Fishes and seafood come only fresh. As mrs. Pagona, the charming owner, advises us with a big smile “the menu does not depend solely on us: it is somehow “designated” by the different seasons and the… fishing hauls” and Tassos, the 2nd generation, cannot but admit it and add “here we do not serve fishes and other seafood if we are not first satisfied with its quality. And it has to be fresh, if not it is not in the menu”.

If you enjoy an excellent grilled fresh fish or a best of the best pasta with dateri di mare, you must drop your anchor just off and, with the tender, you can reach the adjacent small beach. Kindly inform your guests this is a barefoot excursion with feet getting actually wet when jumping off the tender… Alternatively you may use the Corinth Canal’s dock and ask Tassos to send a taxi to pick you up.

Taverna approx position at N37 54.1 & E023 00.75 but if you get lost do not hesitate to call us…
